The Hardships of Writing a Fanfic

(Sorry for the bad language, but my frustration needed to be conveyed accurately. It's not like I'm a proper lady or anything. Video games took care of that years ago. )

Anyway, I hope I'm not alone in this struggle. This has happened to me three times already for my Assassin's Creed fan fiction (which you can read right here: imajanaeshun.deviantart.com/ga… ). ONE STORY, that's needed to be revised thrice over.

First, the Piece of Eden I chose to revolve my story around was a sword, since those hadn't really been explored in the games yet (and I was going to revolve the artifact around the myth of King Arthur and Excalibur, since the era I chose was Elizabethan London... it fit too perfectly!)
Well, Unity took care of that idea. So after a few weeks of further research, I came up with a different plot line that was way better than the Sword of Eden version anyway, so hey, it was a blessing in disguise!

WELL. Then Syndicate is announced, which was great until I found out that the game revolves around TWIN SIBLINGS. IN LONDON. Granted, my fan fiction takes place roughly 280 years earlier than the Industrial Revolution, but STILL. My main character has a twin brother, and they live in London! WTH?!
Okay fine, Ubisoft. You can have that one, but I posted the twin-revealing chapter of my fanfic before your debut, so I'm not changing that. I'm keeping my twins. Phbbbth!

And then, remember how I switched from a Sword of Eden to a different PoE? Well, a few days ago, I stumbled across that tweet... THAT. TWEET. Yup. Idea stolen again. Back to the drawing board.
Like, COME ON, Ubisoft! Are you stalking my DeviantArt gallery or something? I love your games and I'm really looking forward to Syndicate, but I know the Assassin's Creed Wiki better than I know my hometown now, thanks to you. Give me a goddamn break already!
